History
and Mission
The Randolph Women's Club, originally formed as the Ladies Library Association has been in existence since 1855. The Ladies Library Association was the outcome of a meeting of women held on Nov. 22, 1855, when nine Randolph ladies met under the leadership of Mrs M.T. Hendry. A constitution was adopted and forty-one charter members elected Mrs. Christopher M. Cordley as their first president. Since there was not library in the area at that time the Ladies Library Association was chosen and a library started with about 50 books.
In 2005, the Association was renamed to the Randolph Women's Club; although our name has changed our history will go on, hopefully, for the next 150 years. Today's Ladies consider their mission to promote community interest in the arts, local public legislation and local community affairs with a special focus on women and their heritage, while maintaining the Jonathan Belcher House. We invite you to browse our site to read about the happenings, activities and other options the Randolph Women's Club can offer you, your family and associations of which you are a memeber.
